Youth temple trip

What a beautiful day to visit the temple. I was overwhelmed by the spirit during our session as I looked upon all of the children. Such a strong group of young women and men we have.
We were greeted by a brother and sister with a very special message and a reminder that in every doorway stands an angel. While sitting in the waiting area, I met a sister that had driven 6 hours just to come to the temple. She is from Canada and is excited that this fall, a temple in her area will be built. Part of that special message that I just spoke about was the fact that we have people as far away as Alaska in our temple district. Just last year , the youth in their ward (after having saved a whole year to pay their way), were able to come to our temple. I felt so fortunate to have a temple so close.

I wish that I hadn't have been so wrapped up in meeting this other sister and had thought to get all of our youth together outside for a group photo.
These ferry photos and auto photos will just have to do.
Our youth is amazing and it was such a treat to spend time with them. Parents, good work!

Stake Relief Society Humanitarian Service Day

On Saturday, June 6th, from 9:00-12:00, there will be a Stake Relief Society Humanitarian Service Day. We are working with several organizations to do projects that will help and support children. We are asking our Silverdale Stake Sisters, 18 years and older, and friends to make items before that day and bring them finished to the project. We have the opportunity to make blankets/or quilts (any size up to twin) for sick children (infants-18 years of age) and hats and scarves for homeless teens. There will be a short program to start the day on June 6th and we will need lots of helping hands to make the projects we have planned. Please spread the word to those you visit teach. This will be a wonderful event to bring friends to. Thank you for your willingness to help the children. We know you will be blessed for your service. If you have any new twin flat solid-colored flannel sheets or quilt batting you could donate or you have questions about the project please contact April Dever, 206-842-5596.

Easter message from the first presidency

At this Easter season of hope and renewal we testify of the glorious reality of the atonement and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. The empty tomb brought comforting assurance and provided the answer to the question of Job, “If a man die, shall he live again?” (Job 14:14).

Because of the Savior’s resurrection we will overcome death and become the beneficiaries of His mercy and grace. In a world of trouble and uncertainty, His peace fills our hearts and eases our minds. Jesus is in very deed “the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6).

We give our sure witness that Jesus is the Christ. Though He was crucified, He rose triumphant from the tomb to our everlasting blessing and benefit. To each member of the human family He stands as our Advocate, our Savior, and our Friend.

Tonights YM/YW Conference Bowl

A great time was held by all at this evenings combined youth activity. Our youth was divided up between three teams and quizzed game show style on details of this past weekends General Conference. It was exciting and fun and everyone was a winner with the delicious pizza and brownies that were provided! Yum!

Below, Ashton cook racing to get the numbers right. Go Ashton. He got them all correct in less than 2 minutes!

Katie was a close second to Ashton, scoring 3 and a half minutes.
Go Katie!

Jeopardy style!
Look at those notes! Good job studying guys!
A great turn out tonight.
Brother Brooks and Brother Knight hosted this evenings event with Dave Hooyer aka Vanna White at the score board.

Here is a short video from tonight.

Welcome members and inquisitors!

In the spirit of "going green", we have decided to start a blog and save some trees. Of course, this will be printable for those of you that would like to spread a message or two from here with any non members or anyone else that might be interested in what our fantastic ward is up to.
There will also be some copies already printed out and available at the library if you are unable to access a computer.
I encourage anyone who has photos or news to submit them to me by emailing me at
shatiekatie@hotmail.com.
Thanks!
